Greeley, CO is embarking on a mixed-use development project, Cascadia,
with Windsor-based developer Martin Lind (successful developer of Windsor's popular Raindance community). This project would be the new home for minor league hockey team, Colorado Eagles (which LInd also owns) plus additional ice for youth hockey teams, a hotel, spa, conference center, water park and central plaza for concerts and multiple retail spaces to create a vibrant community center with residential and businesses blending together with a central cascade of waterfalls running through it all. There is nothing else quite like this in the area and if it comes to fruition (which it seems like it is on track to do so) could attract an estimated 350K visitors per year. The revenue generated by Cascadia could be very beneficial to Greeley however the financing of this venture has come under fire by Greeley residents. Greeley is taking on a risky financing plan to help move this forward with the hopes of benefitting greatly down the road. Some residents are not anxious to have the city and their tax dollars footing the bill and have launched 'Greeley Deserves Better to organize and protest. The development is set to move forward for now but stay tuned for more information on Cascadia. See the link to learn more about this mixed use development project. https://cascadiacolorado.com/
