Never move again without taking this simple step

If you've ever moved, you know what it's like trying to locate one item that's somewhere hidden amongst hundreds of boxes. Maybe you've placed bets on how many boxes you need to open before finding it.
Here's a simple step to make that unpacking process so much easier. 
Before you start packing use the attached spreadsheet, or create your own with a column for the box number and a second for the contents of each box. 
This may take an extra minute while you're packing but you'll thank yourself when you're searching for the coffee maker or wine glasses in your new home. Once a box is packed, make sure you label the box clearly from at least 3 sides. This way when you have hundreds of boxes stacked in a garage or storage area, it's easy to locate the box you're looking for regardless of where it's stacked, or where you're standing. 
Once you've closed on your new home and you have 250 boxes stacked in your garage, you will thank yourself profusely for taking the extra time.
